1. An oil massage to restore the natural scalp moisture 

Raid your kitchen to see what oil you have. You can massageslightly warmed tea tree, coconut, olive, jojobaor sesame oil into your dry scalp. Let it sit there for 15-20 minutes and then rinse it off thoroughly. 

Just remember to dilute tea tree oil before applying it to your scalp. 

2. Baking soda to reduce dandruff-causing fungi

Baking soda is one of the most easily available kitchen ingredients. Make a paste with a little water and massage it into your scalp. You can also massage in some olive oil before applying the paste. Rinse off the paste after 10 to 15 minutes with your regular shampoo. 

3. Lemon juice and honey to cleanse the scalp

The antibacterial properties of honey and the antiseptic nature of lemon combine to form this cleansing dry scalp treatment. Apply the blend and leave it on for 10-15 minutes before washing off. Don’t use lemon if you have broken or irritated skin as it may sting or worsen the problem. 

4. Bananas and avocado to treat and condition

Bananas are a multi-use goodie from nature. Not only will they ease the itching but also condition your hair. Mash two bananas and mix them well with a ripe avocado. Massage this mixture onto your scalp and leave it for half an hour. Rinse it off with a mild shampoo. 

5. Aloe Vera for natural soothing

Natural aloe vera gel is an excellent moisturising agent that also soothes a dry and itchy scalp. As far as possible, try to get fresh aloe gel. If you can’t, purchase the readymade gel easily available in the market. Massage it into your scalp gently with your fingers. Wash it off with a mild shampoo after 10-15 minutes. 

Prevention is always better than cure. Follow these 3 tips to avoid a dry & itchy scalp problems:

• Avoid using harsh chemicals or products on your hair.
• Avoid over-styling your hair using curlers or blowers.

Freedom 251- Deliveries From June 28

Ringing Bells, a little-known company that ran into controversy afterannouncing the Freedom 251 - a Rs. 251 smartphone, now claims it will start deliveries of the handset to customers from June 28.

Deliveries will start to customers who have registered for buying the phone, Noida-based company's Managing Director Mohit Goel said.

"We will start shipment of Freedom 251 from June 28 to customers who paid for it earlier on COD (cash-on-delivery) basis," he told Press Trust of India.

Ringing Bells began selling the handset, Freedom 251, via its website in February. But the launch of the smartphone, touted to be the world's cheapest, swirled into controversy, with some calling it a fraudulent scheme.

Ringing Bells President Ashok Chaddha had explained earlier that the manufacturing cost of the phone was about Rs. 2,500, which had to be recovered through a series of measures like economies of scale, innovative marketing, reduction in duties and creating an e-commerce marketplace.

He had said that the company would make phones in India that would lead to 13.8 percent savings on duties and further save on cost by selling it online.

The phone was to be manufactured in Noida and Uttaranchal.

"Two plants will be set up for Rs. 250 crores each with a capacity of 5 lakh phones. The money will come in the form of debt and equity (1.5:1)," Chaddha had said.

However, industry players had expressed doubt over the claim. Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad too had asked the Department of Electronics and IT to look into the matter.

The company had also come under the scanner of Excise and Income Tax Departments amid debate over the feasibility of a 3G-enabled handset for Rs. 251.

A much-awaited, much-talked about and much-needed film, ‘Udta Punjab’ has finally made its way to the big screen and we are glad the Bombay High Court did not chop off its wings, and let it fly. This Abhishek Chaubey directorial starring Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh, is definitely an eye opener for all those who have been turning a deaf ear to the menace of drug abuse.

By now, we very well know what the backdrop of the film is, thanks to the Censor Board and its dictation of 89 cuts. It is about the rampant usage of drugs in parts of Punjab and how it affects the youth and adults alike. Through the central characters Tommy Singh played by Shahid, a Bihari migrant played by Alia Bhatt, an ASI officer played by Diljit Dosanjh and Dr Preet played by Kareena Kapoor Khan, the director has fairly managed to summarise how can drugs take a toll on someone’s life and all those related to them.

Shahid’s character rockstar Tommy Singh aka Gabbru is always under the influence of drugs and comes up with songs which revolve around the same subject and hence, he is the favourite of the youth. But the poor guy has to suffer a lot when he decides to do the opposite after realisation dawns upon him. Alia is one small town girl who is in search of a good life. By her definition, ‘aacha time’ means chilling on the beach of Goa. Unfortunately, her life turns into living hell when she comes in contact of drugs. Diljit, who is playing a police officer, was a complete surprise. Initially, he is one of those corrupt officers who later realises the ill-effect of drugs when his own brother gets addicted to heroin. Kareena is the one who joins Diljit to conduct a sting operation against the illegal drug racket. How and when the lives of these four collide with each other is what we will leave for you to watch.

There are no two opinions that each actor has given a stellar performance in the film, including the supporting cast. Shahid as Tommy, is bang on. He has drenched himself in the Rockstar avatar and how! Even though ‘Haider’ remains his best performance so far, Tommy Singh is one character of Shahid that will remain etched in your minds forever. Alia seems to have excelled in the stream of versatility. From her Bihari accent to the way she carries herself, everything she does is flawless. Diljit is like a feel good factor of the film. The Punjabi munda can act and definitely be a lead. Kareena on the other hand, does not have an aggressive role like the rest; but she has done a decent job.

Abhishek’s vision in making the film the way it has been made is applause worthy. The blend of nonchalant humour with callous emotions is something that will keep you hooked. The cinematography of the film is brilliant and we’re glad that the Bombay High Court did not order the makers to remove all the abuses and other objectionable stuff from the film as the essence of ‘Udta Punjab’ would have died. The editing is neat and an extra credit goes to the music director for the amazing numbers. Composer Amit Trivedi has scored really well with the songs.

Surprisingly, even though Anurag Kashyap has only produced and not directed the film, the film holds that aura of a dark Anurag Kashyap film.

If only there was more of Shahid in the first half; he is barely seen in the first half that leaves you wondering about his role. We would have loved to see more madness from Tommy as that’s what we expected, given the hype that was created. Even the love angle between Diljit and Kareena seems to be filmy in a set up like that of ‘Udta Punjab’.

But, overall, ‘Udta Punjab’ has the potential to fly high with shining colours.

From Anurag Kashyap calling Censor Board’s CEO Pahlaj Nihalani a dictator to Pahlaj lashing back on him by accusing him of having taken a bribe from the Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party to show Punjab in bad light, the tiff between the ‘Udta Punjab’ makers and the Censor Board keeps getting worse.

Out of the 89 ‘cuts’ that the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) has asked the makers of the movie to make in the movie, here we bring to you a list of a few of them, some of which might actually shock you.

1.  Cut: Delete the signboard of Punjab in the beginning

2. Delete the name of cities like Punjab, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Tarn Taran and more (All reference of Punjab cities in the dialogues/songs anywhere in the film should be removed)

3. From Song Number 1: Name of a drug (References to drug nowhere in the film whould be present)

4. Words from song 3 (Delete the word 'Chitta' from the song)

6. Delete Abuses 

7. Delete the word elections, MP, party, Party Worker, MLA, Punjab parliament(No govt. rep references: 38 mins)

8. Song no:3 Delete the scene of a scratching Sardar.

9. Censor board wants long disclaimers like: The film focuses on the rising menace of drugs and the war against drugs and is an attempted effects of drugs. We acknowledge he battle against drugs being fought by the government and police, but it can't be won unless people of India unite against this menace"
